The History of Our Station

In 2005, working for the Spartanburg Herald Journal and GoUpstate.com, the late Tommy Sims (2008) got the ballgame started for the beginnings of Upstate Prep-Cast.

In 2007, SHJ pulled support for all thebroadcasts. Under the tutelage of Co-Founders Dale Wilkerson and Britt Wilkerson, Upstate Prep-Cast

was formed and kept Landrum and Chapman webcast on the internet.

By the third week of the 2007 season Boiling Springs was added to the Friday night lineup.

In 2018 Chesnee became our 4th school that we provide internet radio coverage for Athletics, thus covering both Spartanburg County School Districts 1 & 2.

Over the years we have supported broadcasts for Blue Ridge and Polk County (NC) and gave guidance to Clinton High, Saluda High and Ranburne High in Ranburne, Alabama to assist in getting their broadcasts on the web where radio wasn’t a possible outlet.

Each fall Upstate Prep-Cast broadcast all football games for schools providing live Play-by-Play coverage to thousands of listeners. In the winter and spring, broadcasters cover as many basketball,

softball and baseball games as possible.
